Eline Arbo is from Tromsø, a small town above the Arctic Circle in the north of Norway. She comes from an unadulterated communist nest. Demonstrating was a steady job for the Arbo family: every weekend it was banner and banana. Afterwards, there was coffee with fellow idealists – it’s actually like a church. Maybe you think: after such a youth, Eline is done with that idealism. Nothing is less true. It is precisely these themes that trickle through in her performances. How is it that we all want a better world, but it does not seem to work? How is it that people get caught up in their idealism and become as hard as extremists? After studying Theater Studies at the University of Oslo, Eline moved to Amsterdam for her studies at the Regieopleiding of the Theaterschool Amsterdam. Her graduation performances are about believing in idealism and translating this idealism into action. At the moment Eline is in our talent development program.
